Designing your website

A good website is a lot more than a sharp design

My philosophy on good website design is clear. If you look at the best performing websites. The design fits the functionality. That is to say the best websites are performing the task they were built for, and the design supports that aim.

Consider the following websites; facebook.com, ebay.com and google.com. They are amongst the most successful websites the web has ever seen. Are they built on beautiful design, or is that secondary to what they deliver to the customer?

Let's get together and produce a design that is sympathetic to your business, intuative in navigation and scalable for the future.

The site incorporates:

  • An interactive map
  • A guest book
  • A photo gallery
  • Accommodation enquiry form

Incidently I'd recommend The cricket inn at Beesands. The fresh seafood is caught locally and cooked. The Cricket inn is situated right on the shore, and also does bed and breakfast.

A website similar to this would cost around 500 Euros. That's around £400 of your English pounds.

I use templates for most of the work I do. This speeds up development time and saves my clients money. This really avoids reinventing the wheel. However if you have a particular design in mind, or would there is another website out there you would like to emulate, get in touch.
